The Canadian Men’s Volleyball team is scheduled to face Cuba in the second of three pre-World Championship contests on Thursday, Aug. 26 at Scotiabank Place. The game is part of a series of exhibition games in which players from the Cuban national team will face the Canadian national volleyball team in Toronto, Ottawa and Quebec City from Aug. 24-28.

The exhibition matches serve as preparation for both teams as they prepare for the 2010 World Championship being held in Italy in September. Cuba, currently ranked ninth in the world, has had recent international success, having won the gold medal at the 2008 America’s Cup 2008 in Brazil. The Cubans won the 2009 Men's NORCECA Volleyball Championship in Puerto Rico and finished in second place at the 2009 FIVB Men's Grand Champions Cup in Japan.
