2012 World Figure Skating Championships medal contenders to join the cast of Stars on Ice
Canada’s premier figure skating tour is the next step for a select group of top competitors participating at Worlds in Nice, France, from March 26 to April 1

The Investors Group Stars on Ice tour presented by Lindt is proud to announce its 2012 lineup will include World medal hopefuls Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir (Canada), Jeremy Abbott (United States), Ashley Wagner (United States) and Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje (Canada). All skaters will vie for the coveted honour of World champion in their respective disciplines while representing their countries in Nice, France, at the end of the month. These Olympic, World and national champion skaters will take to the competitive ice March 26 to April 1 and later reunite on the tour when it kicks off in Halifax on April 27. The award-winning production will visit 12 Canadian cities, arriving in Ottawa on Sunday, April 29, for a 4 p.m. performance at Scotiabank Place.
Stars on Ice continues to be a pioneer in figure skating by offering fans the rare opportunity to witness some of the world’s most creative and cherished champions performing together in both individual and ensemble routines. This year’s tour features a stellar cast of world-renowned athletes, including four-time World champion and four-time Canadian champion Kurt Browning; 2010 Olympic gold medallists and World champions Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir (Canada); 2010 Olympic bronze medallist Joannie Rochette (Canada); Olympic bronze medallist and World champion Jeffrey Buttle (Canada); three-time U.S. champion Jeremy Abbott; two-time Canadian champion Cynthia Phaneuf; 2012 U.S. champion Ashley Wagner; 2012 Canadian silver medallists Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje; and 2011 Canadian silver medallist Shawn Sawyer.
Stars on Ice, founded by 1984 Olympic gold medalist Scott Hamilton, is one of the premier touring entertainment events in the world.
