Change in Scotiabank Place Smoking Policy
The smoking areas at Gate 2 and Gate 3 and the smoking deck at section 209 will no longer be available. Gate 1 will be the new smoking area for guests at Scotiabank Place.
This policy will be effective Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, for the Senators game against the Buffalo Sabres and will remain in place for all future Senators games and Scotiabank Place events.
The heavy congestion at Gate 2 and Gate 3 and at the smoking deck at section 209 were impacting the overall guest experience particularly during intermissions. In addition, fans and season-seat owners have complained that smoke coming from these areas was finding its way back into the concourse and negatively impacting their game experience.
This relocation of the smoking will dramatically reduce and hopefully eliminate the flow of smoke coming back into the Scotiabank Place, which has been an ongoing issue at the other smoking locations. Tickets for those who leave the building to smoke will be scanned in and out, consistent with the policy that has been in place at Gates 2 and Gate 3.
